Restylane is an exciting injection procedure that can get rid of wrinkles and enhances areas of your face immediately. Some of those areas include the lips, superficial lines around the mouth, forehead lines, and smile lines.
Non-animal hyaluronic acid is manufactured by a unique method in the Q-Med Laboratories in Sweden. The treatment is performed by injecting Restylane into the skin or lip, and because no pre-test is needed it takes less than 30 minutes. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and therefore it also dissolves naturally with time.
Hyaluronic acid is present in all living organisms. In your skin it creates volume, resulting in a healthy and vital appearance. Restylane contains hyaluronic acid in the form of a crystal-clear gel injected into the skin to lift the lip, wrinkle or fold. Once in the skin, Restylane works together with the body's own hyaluronic acid and joins forces to create volume.
In contrast to other biodegradable implants, Restylane is not extracted from animals. This means no risk of allergic reactions. Therefore, Restylane is perfectly safe to use instantly without pre-testing.
What does the treatment involve?
The treatment is a simple straightforward procedure taking about 30 minutes. Pre-testing is not normally required. A local anaesthetic cream is usually applied before treatment. The crystal clear gel is then injected into the skin with a very thin needle. The gel gives a very natural looking volume and smoothes wrinkles. The treatment is very quick and effective and will not take much or your time.
Will I experience side effects?
Side effects are injection related and transient. You may experience a slight swelling and tenderness at the implant site. These are typically resolved within 1-2 days after injection into the skin or perhaps 1 week after injection into the lips. You will be able to re-apply make-up and resume your daily activities immediately following your treatment.
Where can it be injected?
Restylane® can be used to correct frown lines, deep smile lines and to enhance lips as well as acne lines, forehead furrows and crows feet.
Will It work for me?
Results can be seen immediately and Restylane® allows you to temporarily suspend or reverse the signs of ageing. The period of benefit from this treatment varies considerably between individuals and depends on factors such as your age, skin type and lifestyle. The majority of patients choose to have a follow up treatment after 6 to 12 months.
What is Restylane Sub-Q
The Sub-Q gel is based on the product Restylane which is a clear viscous gel containing non-animal hyaluronic acid. The Sub Q gel particle sizes are the largest in the product range and are used to enhance, or restore volume and a more defined facial contour.
What does the treatment involve?
The treatment is a simple straightforward procedure taking about 30 to 45 minutes. Pre testing is not normally required. A local anaesthetic injection is usually applied before treatment. The procedure requires a needle containing the crystal clear gel to be injected into deeper layers of the skin. The gel works to create volume under the skin giving a very natural look, smoothing out lines and wrinkles.
Will I experience side effects?
Side effects are injection related and transient. You experience redness, swelling or itching at the implant site. The symptoms are typically resolved in 3-7 days after the injection into the skin.
Make up can be applied soon after the treatment and you should be able resume your daily activities almost immediately.
